Guess what I saw today?

Hi Everyone, I know it's February but where I live it feels like spring. The snow is melting and I am going to ride my bike after school! Guess what I saw on the way to school this morning? We were driving along and my little brother screamed, "Look! A bald eagle!" My mom pulled the car over, we all looked up, and there it was. A huge beautiful bald eagle flying right over our car. It was the most beautiful bird I have ever seen. My mom said that the next time I see one I can take a picture and put it on my blog. What a great day!! Bye for now!

Happy New Year!!!

Hi Friends -- Happy New Year!!!! I can't believe that 2009 is almost here. Do you have big plans for tonight? I looooove New Year's Eve. My mom and I watch our favorite old movie -- it's called "Holiday Inn" -- and then we play games with my dad and brothers and wait for midnight. Last year, I fell asleep at 11:00 so I'm really going to try to stay awake :) I also want to say a big "Welcome!" to our new friends who received "Knitting With Gigi" or "GIgi Knits ... and Purls" as a holiday gift. Thanks for knitting with us!!! Bye for now!

What a great weekend!

Hi Friends! Wow, did I have a great weekend! My family and I loooove caves and we found a park with new ones to explore. We walked up hills and down hills ... I was tired but it was great! After the caves, we went to a drive-in movie. Have you ever been to a drive-in? We put out blankets and chairs and watch movies under the stars ... and eat popcorn, of course! Drive-in movies are one of my favorite parts of summer. Bye for now!

The end of summer :(

Hi All, Well, today is the last day before school starts. My school supplies are all ready and stuffed in my new backpack. The summer went by so fast! I've spent the last 2 weeks at a lodge with my aunts, uncles, cousins, Grandpa and Grandma. We went to a lake that was deep in the woods and saw bald eagles, deer, all kinds of fish, and even a red fox. At night, we watched the Olympics (Go, Shawn Johnson!) and knit. I will never forget what a great time we had! Bye for now!

Fun at the State Fair!

Hi Everyone, I had an awesome time at the state fair today!!! I saw a cow made of butter and a realllllly big pig. I ate everything on a stick -- a pork chop, a deep-fried candy bar, a corndog, a pickle -- I even had salad on a stick! We walked through all of the livestock barns. We saw the amazing fruits and vegetables grown by people all over my state. Folks also entered their knitting and it was just beautiful! I hope you had a good day, too! Bye for now!

The County Fair

Hi Everyone, It's sure hot here ... what is the weather like where you are? I went to the county fair last night. I ate a corn dog - yum! - and my brother won a goldfish for knocking some bottles down. I was very excited because my friend Cayla won a blue ribbon for her big fluffy rabbit. Next week, we go to the state fair. I'll take some pictures when I'm there so you can see some amazing things --like a cow made entirely of butter and the biggest pig you've ever seen! I love summer!!

Aunt Laura learns to knit

Hi Friends, I've been busy this week! My cousins are visiting from Oregon and we are having a great time. I'm even teaching my Aunt Laura to knit. She said it really felt funny at first but she just kept practicing and now she's doing great! I turned in my projects for the state fair this week. It's fun to enter but it's even more fun to see all of the cool things other people are knitting. I'm off to the water park! Bye for now!

Fun at the zoo!

Hi Friends, Are you having fun today? Do you have anything special planned? A trip to the swimming pool sounds great, doesn't it! Guess what I did this weekend? I went to the zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, and it was amazing! My little brother was blowing kisses to the gorillas and guess what? A gorilla blew a kiss back to him! There were penguins and an indoor rain forest. There was even an indoor swamp. We saw lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) I hope you can go to a zoo sometime this summer! Bye for now!Lions at the Zoo
